Women and poetry. They just never stop talking about it. Crowding up the comments boxes all over the internet. Tossing off opinions everywhere. Telling everyone else they’re wrong. Got it backward. Forgot the most important poet ever. Don’t know squat about this school or that. Mastheads overflowing with women. Women blogging about poetry and art. Women with opinions out there taking up space. Defining whole movements. Women with posses tagging them daily, hourly, reassuring little pats on their backs… Women reviewing and asserting grand theories, ways of organizing the canons. No wonder all the men are busy talking quietly amongst themselves…they can’t get a word in.

Ain’t it the truth? Poor Ron Silliman (http://www.ronsilliman.blogspot.com) can hardly get a 1,000 words in edgewise.

This is great! I’m posting it as a quote to my Tumblr page (which feeds into my blog as well.)
