Emerging Toronto Poets: Stevie & Aisha Want You!

Here’s the first of a few LAST CALLS as we head into our final year of publishing.

Lemon Hound is open to submissions from Emerging Toronto poets starting today and continuing until August 23, 2014. Co-editors Stevie Howell & Aisha Sasha John are seeking 3-5 pages of previously unpublished poetry by Toronto poets with two books or less, for a folio of new voices. Please submit anonymously, with no names or identifiable information on your pages, as we will be reading submissions blind.

In keeping with Lemon Hound’s mandate to publish the best and most diverse, we want to see work that challenges and surprises. We want to be delighted and frightened. We want poems that smoulder. We want five-alarm talent. We want the cotton candy and the balloon and the ice cream and the pony ride, and we’ve got sun stroke and we refused to nap, and we know we’re not asking too much from you — right??
