Back to the present moment: Slavoj Zizek, Naomi Klein, Tzvetan Todorov, Saskia Sassen et al. Because contemporary poetry seems to have no sense of what “reality,” “hope,” “eco,” or “fear” is… (Okay not all contemporary poetry, but strands of discussion on certain websites).Here’s an interesting essay from Zizek, and a clip from “The Pervert’s Guilde to Cinema,” on the movie Children of Men on how it represents the contemporary world. As for hope? Well, denial, looking away–that’s not hope.
